PEMDAS without the traps

Every expression is built so the correct order gives a whole-number answer, while doing it left to right gives a different number. That makes mistakes easy to spot on the answer key.

A common misconception

PEMDAS can suggest multiplication always comes before division and addition before subtraction. In fact they are equal partners: work them left to right. Point this out after the first worksheet.

Make it a timed challenge

Put a visual classroom timer on the board and see how many problems students can finish before the time runs out. Print a new version tomorrow and try to beat the score.
